Saratoga Springs has two completely different price seasons. During the summer thoroughbred meet at Saratoga Race Course — roughly mid-July into Labor Day — the town books out and rates run at their annual high. Outside that window it's an affordable upstate weekend: Congress Park and the mineral springs are free, downtown Broadway is walkable, Saratoga Spa State Park has trails and the mineral baths, and the Adirondacks start 30 minutes north. General admission to the track itself is inexpensive if you go on a weekday. This guide covers the racing calendar, when to visit for value, and what's free year-round.
